Think Pink Spaghetti Dinner
October 12, 2011 - 5:00pm-7:30pm
The 2011 edition of the Think Pink Pasta Dinner was again a huge sucess. The PEI Rocket teamed up with Eastside Mario's for the Annual Pasta Dinner on Wednesday, October 12th. The Rocket (players and staff) were on hand at East Side Mario’s in Charlottetown to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. Rocket players and staff were matched with East Side Mario’s staff to serve a pasta dinner between 5:00 and 7:30 pm to the delight of many fans.
As an organization, we understand the importance of competing hard every night to win the battles needed to win hockey games. Although this is very important to us and near and dear to our hearts, we realize it does not compare to what those battling the ugly disease of breast cancer must go through. Everyone directly and indirectly involved with this horrible disease must find energy from within, as well as various resources from others to help them win the most important battle of all; that’s living life. We can put systems in place to help us win games on the ice but unfortunately the science of beating cancer isn’t where it has to be today. Because of this, we are most proud to be partnering with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to help raise awareness and money to assist with finding a cure for this disease that effects far too many of us. We encourage everyone to join us on October 12 at our Think Pink Dinner and again on October 14 at our Pink Jersey Hockey Game to contribute to such a worthy cause” says Trent Birt, VP of Operations.
Chris Wright of Murphy Group of Restaurants, said “we are proud to be associated with the Rocket and the Run for the Cure in this unique event. It is a great way for us to be involved in Think Pink Week and get more involved with our community”.
