Victor Provencher's scored 37 seconds into overtime to give the P.E.I. Rocket a 3-2 win over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens Sunday afternoon in Chicoutimi, Que.
With the win, the Rocket upped their record to 3-5-0-1 on the season and also picked up their first road win of the year.
Provencher's two goals led the way for the Rocket, along with Ben Duffy's two helpers.
P.E.I. opened the scoring in the first period with Dylan Capstick's first of the year from Duffy at 6:29. Chicoutimi countered with a goal from Etienne Brodeur at 19:50 on the powerplay to tie the game at one.
Chicoutimi's Guillaume Asselin had a powerplay goal at 13:16. It was the lone goal in the second period and it lifted the Sagueneens ahead 2-1.
In the third period, Provencher tied the game at two-a-piece with his sixth of the season at 3:04 on the powerplay. Marc-Andre Levesque and Tomas Pavelka drew the assists.
Provencher later scored the overtime winner early into the extra frame. Duffy drew the only assist.
Rocket goalie, Maxime Lagace, made 29 saves to pick up the win. Chicoutimi goalie, Christopher Gibson, took the loss making 29 saves.
The Rocket return home Friday Oct. 7 against the Rimouski Oceanic. Gametime 7 p.m.
