Pre-Season Game Tomorrow
August 17, 2012

All week at the PEI Rocket training camp, Alexis Pepin has shown the reasons he was touted by many as being the best player available in June’s QMJHL Entry Draft. People will get their first chance to see Pepin in pre-season action tomorrow afternoon as the Rocket host the Saint John Seadogs, at 2 o’clock, at the Pownal Sport Centre.
Tomorrow’s game will be the second game of a home and home with the Seadogs. The Rocket are on the road tonight playing the defending President Cup Champions, in Quispamsis.
Camp opened with 45 players vying to make the team and the first cuts were yesterday. The two games this weekend will be a good opportunity for the 36 players left in camp to make an impression on head coach Gordie Dwyer.
Dwyer is looking forward to the two upcoming games. He says, “we have some young guys that have certainly shown tremendous upside and our veterans came to camp ready to go. Out intra-squad games were good but these two games are great opportunities for guys to show us what they can do in real game situations.”
